Nice. I have a few but get frustrated with the lack of storage in them... and the tendency to forget to change batteries when I've got them all set up nice, so it forgets everything. Getting hard to find all the old software, but you might have some luck finding shareware ISOs on textfiles.org cd archive and at archive.org
Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

That thing is ugly as all hell! 😆 But the hardware specs are nice. Are you going to restore it to its former glory?

Took me an extra half a second to relate this to actual hardware as opposed to something more.... personal. 🤣

Radeon 8500LE.
Caps 435, 473 and 465 seem to be missing but card booted to desktop without issues. What are these responsible for?
Got a new soundcard, Xfi Elite Pro

From my recent experience: a missing cap was causing refresh issues at 192x1080 (screen was going blank), but the card was acting normal until the drivers arrived...
Got myself an IBM T43 laptop. Wasn't really very happy with it until I stumbled across tpfancontrol.
The Wifi card is either not working properly or does not like my router. It either does not see it or, when it does, it seems to connect fine but pings only work when they feel like it.
This is about 2m away from the router, with nothing else in between, so I'll have to do further tests and checks...
One missing CT number less in my Soundblaster collection after today
ah! quick, the sticker is falling off of one of the chips, they're gonna find out! 😁
nice... I still have quite a few holes unfortunately, especially around the start.

20(18 pictured) NOS Western Digital WD1600AAJB Western Digital Caviar Blue 160GB 7200RPM 8MB Cache IDE / PATA / ATA.
The performance of the WDs is top notch. They are probably single platter and short stroked. Look at that HD Tune graph. Plus 70MB/s for about 75% of the graph. These will fly on a retro system. Tested on a i815EP + Celeron 1000A 1333.
Also 20x NOS Kingston KTH-VL4/64 64MB SIMM 72 60ns. 2x32MB. HP(R) P/N: D4543A
Also 10x NOS Kingston KTH5365/128 128MB PC100 SDRAM. HP(R) P/N: D5367A
This makes me feel like a HW distributor. 😁
I love the performance of those late 2.5in IDE drives! At one point I got a batch of late era 20GB laptop drives and they were very fast and very silent! Booting and shutting down was a matter of mere seconds.
Most people seem to prefer SSDs these days, but I personally think these drives are kinda great 😀
You have any good adapters for those laptop drives btw?
The SIMMs are also good, especially such a large batch NOS?
You should be set for life now! 😜

Well caps are usually (not always) for filtering or blocking DC bias, I suspect these are filtering caps since they seem to be connected to the ground plane, so the signals on your card/in your computer are clean enough to not cause a problem. The caps might be responsible for the Rage Theater chip, which is for video recording, not rendering graphics, so that also might be a reason why it works.

Jesus i finally got the idea what the M stands for on the Panasonic caps with the T on top of them, ofc i forgot that was their original name, guess was too hard for them to write it like Nichicon, Elna, Rubycon, SaNyo does 🤣... As i was thinking what that M stands for on the Panasonic Caps, never got the idea what the M is..

Some Diamond cards.
Speedstars 64:
And a nice Viper Pro:
With a video coprocessor unusually present on the solder side of the PCB:
Ver nice cards u got yourself, also in pristine condition it seems nice for u.
That Diamond Viper Pro is fucking nice to see.. Aside from the later ATi AGP cards with bridge chip on the back, did not see another one like that, but it seems this Viper card does have similar chip on the back doing something.. And it appears some morons decided that it will be good to bend these bottom caps one on the PCI slot and another one too to stick out of the card very "clever" indeed.... 2 of these Diamond cards seems to have some older logo of theirs, and the 3 one is with the one everyone knows...
The oldest Diamond cards i have are these 2....

TabWorks from Xerox it's the default Windows 3.1 interface. (I like it!!!)
Nice find ! I have the same Compaq but it is Aero 4/33 a bit more powerful.. But the screen is shitty need to up brightness to 100% otherwise cant see shit, and the trackball is dead.. Aside from that is like brand new...

Mentioned this trade deal a few months back (cost me a few days unpaid work) but only been near healthy enough to follow through recently though, so just picked up this week -
- two SDS2 (one boxed + pair of terminators)
- three STL2 (bare boards + VRMs)
- pair of Tualatin 1.4/512/133, pair of Coppermine-T 1.0/256/133, two pairs of Coppermine 1.0/256/133, pair of Coppermine 866/256/133
- 2GB PC133 CL3 ECC SDRAM (8 x 256MB)
It's all old used gear from server pulls / spares that was gathering dust in office stores so for various reasons everyone was happy to see it gone 😀
Quick test to POST / BIOS shows everything still seems working (yah, boards even already have the latest firmware & BIOSes loaded) though I've no idea when I'll get time to test it all more fully.
Gonna need more coolers though!

I see what you did here and I approve . 😉
Got a lot of free stuff, need to go back for some 10 flat CRT monitors. At the site there must be some 20 celeron 2 machine, but I didn't take those as I currently lack space. I did find some nice cards, took out some cpus, lots of old HDD. I love the memory upgrade on that S3 card.
Separately I bought this DFI lanparty NF4 ultra-D board, it was cheap so I couldn't say no to it.
Picked up an IBM PS/1 today and I love it! Just need an adlib (or clone) sound card for it.
