Hi everyone,

Found an interesting retro magazine named Paleotronic.
It seems to be from Australia and has physical releases! 🙂

It's not just about old games, but also covers electronics/technology and history.
Like CB radio, telecommunications, space exploration, early online services (Q-Link, CompuServe) etc.

The Internet Archive has some selected, older issued archived. The website even links to them occasionally..

Links (examples):

Have fun!

Best regards,
Jo22

PS: If you like comics, please also have a look at 'The Science Fair Story of Electronics'. 🙂

If we're making suggestions, I can highly recommend the CGW museum. It has all issues of Computer Gaming World, from the 80s to the mid 2000s:

https://www.cgwmuseum.org/

The magazine mostly deals with game reviews, but there are some nice articles talking about popular hardware at the time (e.g. Voodoo cards) as well tips for making gaming PC builds. Even some of the ads are interesting, as they let you know how much RAM a typical mid-range PC had in 1999 and such.

PC#1: Pentium MMX 166 / Soyo SY-5BT / S3 Trio64V+ / Voodoo1 / YMF719 / AWE64 Gold / SC-155
PC#2: AthlonXP 2100+ / ECS K7VTA3 / Voodoo3 / Audigy2 / Vortex2
PC#3: Core 2 Duo E8600 / Foxconn P35AX-S / X800 / Audigy2 ZS
PC#4: i5-3570K / MSI Z77A-G43 / GTX 980Ti / X-Fi Titanium

Hey, thanks for that!

I don't suppose you'd happen to know where you could get all of them as a single download? Couldn't find a full collection from internet archive, just single issues. I'd love to get all the issues between 1990-2004 but it would be nice if I wouldn't have to download them one by one 😐

Unfortunately, I don't think there's a way to do that on the website. Maybe with a download manager or something I guess.

I got them one by one, but over the course of a month or so. Not all at once.
