I am experiencing something very odd which has me perplexed.

My PC:
Asus vl/i-486sv2gx4
Cyrix 5x86 120
64MB RAM
DOS 6.22

When I boot with Himem.sys and EMM386, everything works as it should.

If I use a boot disk or boot without EMM386 (or anything else for that matter, or just himem.sys), I am left with only between 60-80KB of conventional memory.

Running "mem /c /p" shows very little actually being used if I look at the entries there, but it shows 500KB or so being used by something in the summary, which is impossible. I tried removing all the interface cards and only left the IDE controller in, and I also tried removing most of the RAM and left in only 16MB, but that didn't help.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

A screenshot of the full mem /c could probably help, that's not something common.

Thanks, I fixed the issue... It had to do with L1 cache being set to WB mode... Changing it to WT solved the issue. See more in this thread.
