I recently added this X-24 to the collection, thus preventing the closet from collapsing in on itself.

Single Slot SLI, taking up the space of two slots... 😀

Nice card though!

The card takes up just one slot (really), but with how much heat produced within the card sandwich, one should probably leave 1 slot above and 1 slot below open so it can breathe!

Very nice card, but expensive AF usually... So let me guess u did pay at least 800$ for it. Last time i saw one of these in ebay did sell for more then 1000$. So i will assume u did pay at least 1000$ or maybe even 1200 or more for this (ofc all depend on how greedy the seller is, it may cost even 700$).

Love that box art. Definitely needs a place of the display shelf.

When I reset the room, it will definitely be out on display. Too bad the artwork of today (if there is any) doesn't aspire to anything. All we get now is a picture of the card in the box, if even that.

You guessed correctly - it was not cheap! The seller put it up for auction and claimed to be the original owner.

Most box graphic designs have turned into drab, corporate looking garbage. Now that competition has narrowed to just a handful of companies it seems they don't even try to grab our attention anymore. Also, could be online shopping doesn't need the flash like window shopping I suppose. I still think it's a loss for all of us. The box art on games and hardware back in those days was just as exciting as the product itself. Speaking of which, it's why I like Itch.io for indie titles. They allow for cool looking game site designs by the creators in which the founder describes as similar to box art. Very interesting video actually on how he got it all started. Worth a watch.

Edit: I take it back. Holy crap it comes with stickers. 🤣

Oh yeah.. I forget about Yeston, but it's too far in the other direction for me.

Another option for games is: https://limitedrungames.com/

However, I don't buy any of these. In addition to your points, I think some of the artwork attraction also has to do with the era one grows up in. There is nothing like 80's and 90's box art for games and hardware.

I'm on the road a lot so I really don't have the space or time to appreciate physical media anymore, but I could not resist the System Shock remake collector box from Nightdive Studios. Hopefully it will be shipping this year. One of my favorite game series of all time. Still, I think the original System Shock 1 box art is the best in the series.

That is pretty nice!

I have original System Shock 1 and 2 in the box, and they are great, indeed.

Inspired by Trashpanda, I've bought a pair of Asus 3D glasses. They were a lot easier to buy/find than I originally thought. I did a short stint with the original Turok using an Asus V6800 Deluxe connected to a 19" CRT, and I think they work pretty well. I'll make a more serious run with them down the road.

Bought a bunch of stuff from e-waste: Lenovo ThinkPad X200, MSI N560GTX-TI Twin Frozr II (1GB GDDR5), GALAXY (now GALAX) GTS450 SE 1GB DDR3, and ELSA Gladiac 528 (GF4 Ti 4200) 128MB, for the total price of NT$1000 (US$33).

The ThinkPad is fully functional so I'd say the deal is acceptable even if all three video cards are dead; will test them tonight and it would be great if they all work.

Boots fine with 12 x 200 and default 1.6V 😀.

Also, found great (quiet) replacment for 50mm fans on Slot-1/Slot-A coolers:

I recently added these two cards to my collection. I've always been a fan of PowerVR based video cards, and it's very rare to find them with a good condition and original cooling at a good price.

I've been looking for one of these but it's hard to find one for less than $100USD, which is a lot for a collectible I won't really use.

Nice score! I've Always liked the look of the twin frozr cooler.

Unfortunately that's the only one with minor defects: some color artifact pixels appear across the screen, and all three ports (two DVI and one mini-HDMI) have the same problem, pointing the issue to VRAM. The other two cards are fine.
