I started playing around with SiS chipset boards (socket 370, socket A, socket 478) and decided I wanted a wallpaper for my first SiS build - a Tualeron 1100 on an Asus TUSI-M (SiS 630). Hope you guys like it:

I saved the PDF file with all the different layers, so if someone would like a different resolution say 1600x1200, just let me know.

Very nice! Could you modify it to show a "K6-2 3D Now!" logo instead of "SIS"?

This one I've had since around 2004, it was one of AMD's promotional wallpapers that they put out for the Athlon64 FX series when they first launched. Sadly it's the only one I still have.

Original res BMP converted to PNG.

edit: changed to imgur link. Not sure why uploading here obliterated the quality but... here you go 😁

I'm pretty sure mai, nakoruru and dizzy are not vintage hardware products nor is their art public domain.

Saw the wallpapers before your post, cracked me up :')

They do sport some heavy hardware though

Those were the days 🤣. I got quite many. I remember back then having 1 main desktop PC and spending hours and days to deck out the wallpaper and icons. Now having so many retro computers, usually after I have them setup I just use the regular windows them and just running games afterwards. Too many PCs too little time 😀

Digital DECpc Wallpapers for Windows 3.1 (August-September 1993). You can get the original BMP format files along with a screensaver from here:

Readme File

--------------------------------------------------------

Philip Dickerson 10-Sep-93

Please send any comments, complaints, suggestions for improvements, etc
to CAPNET::PDICKERSON .

Instructions
------------

This package needs to be manually installed as follows
(this assumes that the floppy drive is A: and that Windows 3.1
is installed in the directory C:\WINDOWS - if not, the commands
can be changed appropriately):

COPY A:DIGITAL*.BMP C:\WINDOWS\.
COPY A:SSPOLY.SCR C:\WINDOWS\.
COPY A:VBRUN*.* C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\.
COPY A:INFOVBX.* C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\.

Run the Windows Control Panel, run the Desktop control, and select
a wallpaper (the DIGITAL*.BMP files should be in the list) and select
a screen saver (Digital Polygon should be one of those listed).

Fantastic wallpapers! We need some section of deploying them together like a gallery for simpler download - I presume that anyone would appreciate retro wallpapers from vendors or PC offerers - I remember, that in my time, old AT came with a sticker from that company and a wallpaper even a carton box had their logo... such a nice come-to-client that was... in any case, I would volunteer to get this into making, providing my hardware to host this 😀
