It's a TNT2 card, even slower than M64. Probably closer to TNT performance than TNT2.
But regarding compatibility it's very good since it's a TNT2.

The Vanta-16 is a late model TNT2 M64 Vanta-16, clocked at 80% of the speed of the TNT2 M64, and the memory at 125 instead of 150.

For it's purpose it's kinda slow, but as with all Nvidia cards of this generation, the vesa compatibility is great.

It was more than often used in systems without onboard graphics or with slow integrated chipsets. Business purposes or lower end consumer stuff.

Today I'd only use it if I'd make an over the top DOS machine.

The low-clocked Vanta-LT (AGP x2 version) was one of the few AGP cards that ran stably in the GA-586SG (SIS5591 chipset).
More powerful cards caused the system to hang. So it may be useful in early boards with buggy AGP implementation (i.e. PC CHIPS BX Cell).

yes i want to build exactly an super-lightning dos machine. Basically i use a DX2-66 but when i not want a “period correct” experience, but i want a non compromised expirience i have a Pentium4 1.6 plus this card for DOS and win98 games (non win98 3D games but something like red alert, screamer2 ecc…)
