EDIT: After closer inspection it looks like they put the same file (32bit) in both folders, even though it says 16-bit version on the index.

But yeah also discovered it's the 32bit version in there as well...
I have not tried ghisler yet - I want to leave that as the last option
It is already amazing they still have the 16bit win3x version available and that the registration keys work with it just fine, must be one the last rare instances where win3x is still an option

if anyone has it please upload it , I've spent the last couple of hrs searching inside archive.org's CDROM coverdisks collection of 1999 but all I got so far was the 32bit win9x version

yes, the ghisler.com site used FTPs to serve the files, but those FTPs were often simtel mirrors 😉

where did you find such an old mirror?
I could only locate a 2003ish one on archive.org

Randomly checked the directory simtelnet/win3/diskutl/ of some currently online mirrors, quickly skipping those that file dates were way off 1999. I don't even know which one was exactly, one of the tabs I opened had the file.

this is nice as 3.53 seems to have added the FTP client feature: I have found that the best FTP client for win3x is actually Total (Win) Commander
WS_FTP has a terrible gui (for today's standards) and CuteFTP is bugged as it will not always show all files in the remote directory
Total Commander on the other hand is just great replacing these FTP clients

I remember I thought the GUI to WS_FTP sucked even back in 1997 😜

Anyone used BulletproofFTP? It was quite handy with hammering a server till a connection opened and tried to finish what it started...
