Well for some money on eBay I bought a lot of cards that said they should work although two arrived with physical damage.

Cards are
Winfast 7600gt AGP
Asus FX5950 Ultra
Diablotek Radeon 9800 pro 256 (swollen capacitors)
VisionTek Ti 4200 (one capacitor ripped off in transit)
Diamond Radeon 9250 256mb/128bit
Dell FX5200 256mb/128bit
GeForce 4MX 4000 128mb/64bit
Savage 2000 64mb

I'll be testing them later today except the two damaged cards I'm going to have to replace the caps on the 9800 and see if it still works and of course the ti is going to need that capacitor replaced as well.

All in all I think it's a good haul, and it cost me less than $50 US.

The Fx 5950 is worth more than all the other cards combined if it’s working.

Yes I know I'm going to be testing them shortly and I will let y'all know what works.

I've seen broken FX5950 Ultra sell for more than what OP paid.
So no matter what happens, it was a good deal.

That's the strange thing about the pricing structure for vintage computer parts on ebay. You can often get desirable parts cheaper when you buy them as part of an existing build or as part of a lot of odds and ends than you can if you try to just buy the part itself.

well the valuable cards are FX5950 Ultra, Radeon 9800 Pro 256mb, and Geforce 7600GT AGP, the Ti 4200 would be aswell but I don't know how to reattach those surface mount polymers sadly

the one im most excited for though, the Savage 2000, I've never had a Savage product, I've had the onboard Unichrome back in like 2003, and I have a Virge but the gap between the VirgeDX2 and the Unichrome on KM400A is all unknown to me 🤣

ah shoot i read the model number wrong, I thought 5950 Ultra, its just a normal 5900 Ultra well that lowers the value somewhat

So later tonight I'll have test results on the cards, here is the test system I'm using

Athlon XP 2800+
Gigabyte KT400 board
2gb DDR400
Windows XP Pro SP3

For all Nvidia expect the 7600GT I'm using the 45.23 drivers, for the 7600GT I'll update to the 175 series
For ATI I'll use the 6.2 Catalyst Drivers

No idea on the savage'

Testing with

3D Mark 2000, 01, 03 and 05. Not running 06 because for one the only card that even has SM3 is the 7600GT and honestly my Athlon XP will choke before the 7600GT does

Not eBay, but I recently bought an entire computer locally for $40 because I needed a floppy drive. External drives were around $30 on Amazon for no name brands and a name brand on eBay would have cost me even more!

So far the FX5200 and 7600GT wont post, and the 9800 Pro was mislabled its a Radeon 9800SE 128bit card so basically a more power hungry 9600 Pro

I passed on a few $50 FX5950s but that was in 2010, gotta wonder why those “are valuable “, beyond 3dfx I can’t see anyone having nostalgia for those antiques, they are just a video card.

You'll have to see how the 9800SE does with Omega drivers; mine unlocks the pipelines with no issues, and even has some headroom for overclocking.

Many people only search the title and not the description.
So if the auction is called "Old graphic cards", those people won't find it.

I personally love auctions that don't list the name of the items and have a description like: "See for yourself."
That's where the real bargains are to be made. Those Voodoo Banshees can be really tricky to identify. Two years ago I won an auction named "Old ISA sound cards" for 55€, which contained a Voodoo3 2000, a CT2670 (AWE64) with 2x4MB SIMMs and a Vibra16 with OPL3.

You can even dig deeper and search for electronic waste on Ebay. You can find almost anything in these auctions.
I personally found a VLB Tseng ET4000, Two Voodoos and an ASrock Dual PCIe/AGP board between literal trash.

So only working cards are

FX5900 Ultra
Radeon 9800SE
Savage 2000
MX 4000 which turns out is 32bit ram

I'm trying to bake the 7600GT/9250 and FX5200

I bought a video card gold scrap lot once, it worked out all right

I got
2 FX 5200 Dell OEM cards
3 MX440 Dell OEM cards
Ti 4200 which I sold when I got my Ti 4600 which I got at a garage sale for $5 🤣
Riva TNT2 Pro
3x Geforce2 MX 400 Dell OEM
Geforce 256 SDR

These worked, I had a bunch that didnt work but it cost me a whole 19.99 + 40 for shipping

I will once I recap it, its got 4 buldging caps, i tested it to see if it works, it does complete 3dmark03 and thats as much stress as I'll give it till recap. If i can unlock it I should have something slightly faster than a 9600 Pro, but sadly with 128bit bus it will be crippled no matter what. It should compare with 8 pipes to a 9500 Pro.

The Geforce 256 is a really nice find. Those sell for $100+ now.
The TNT 2 Pro is also worth selling. Rest is just gold value.
Why did you have to pay 40 bucks for shipping? Other continent?

Working FX5900 Ultra is sweet. Did you perform some stress testing via 3D mark? Sometimes cards appear fine until they get to heavy load.
The Savage 2000 might also be worth something. Not sure how much. As far as I know the Savage 2000 is super buggy and S3 Metal games won't run it. Only Unreal Tournament got a patch. Afaik it's the best card for Classic UT. Better than a Voodoo5.

Yes the FX5900 Ultra finished off with a 5x loop of 3dmark 05 gametest 1 and 2, and it passed, I'm gonna call that good

well I bought it on a gamble, I lost my job and need a way to make some money, so the FX 5900 Ultra is going back on ebay, but now tested and by itself, the 9800SE I'm gonna take to a friends and see if he can repair the caps

Hi!
I thought i'd say something for all those new to eBay a few words of wisdom "if the price is too good to be true it probably is"
Best buy from eBay for decent GPU are tested working and bench marked with screenshots. Some eBay sellers will youtube a bench cycle upon request.
If it hasn't been properly bench tested with screenshots its too good to be true even with brand new looks.
I got 4 too good to be true still looking too but some of these cards are so expensive I could easily buy a proper gaming rig with the same GPU in it for less.
Suppose one good outcome is 4 less AGP trash cards circulating; e waste got them as I don't sell damages.
Its not so much greedy sellers for a good card because inflation; a recession is warned and all the smaller countries suffer first.

I wouldn't be so paranoid.
If you pay via Paypal and the hardware was declared "fully functional", you can get your money back.
