Hi,

I'm running the VGA version of Quest for Glory 1 (from the quest for glory collection) with Dosbox 0.65. It runs fine, except for two minor issues.

The first is that the colors are all messed up in the Centaur Farm screen every time I enter, although they revert to normal if I talk to the Centaur. No big deal.

The second is much more annoying. When I open the submenu to access my character sheet, time of day, resting, sneaking, etc., any mouse movement immediately closes the submenu. I can only navigate it with TAB and ENTER. Anyone else run across this issue or know how to resolve it?

Update
I've tried it with the new .70 version of Dosbox, and I have the same problem. I've also confirmed that Quest for Glory 3 has the same problem on my system.

Huh. I actually seem to have found a fix. If I turn on "auto-lock mouse" in my d-fend profile, it works properly. It's too bad though, because I don't like having a locked mouse. Oh well.

weird.
You might want to try to change the output setting in dosbox.conf

Weren't there some compatibility problems with D-fend and DOSBox .65?

This isn't a DOSbox bug. This actually happens on a real pc too so it's really a game bug. I've seen this happen on my 386 various times.

Huh. It never used to happen on my old floppy disk version back in the day (which was stolen!). Did you see it with the anthology version?

Never had the anthology; only 5" floppies.

If so, as noted in the update to my original post, I tried it in Dosbox .70 without D-fend and had the same issue.

There is a patch that addresses some palette problems.

That patch is diskette version only; again, I'm using the qfg anthology version.

D-fend is no longer actively being developed. .63 is the last version of DOSBox that is fully supported. .07 probably has more compatibility problems with D-fend than .65. Try DBGL or D.O.G. as both can import D-fend profiles.
