Hello.
Just finished assembling this PC.
At first it was refusing to read windows 95 CD and I had to use a newer CD Drive, instead of using a 10x CD drive that was time correct (ERROR CDR101 Device not ready), after switching 4 drives, the last one worked, and the installation started.
Motherboard:G586IPV
Pentium-S 133 mhz.
2 mB Trident PCI video card.
1.7 GB HDD
Windows 95 OSR 2.5.
Cd-Rw drive.
ISA SB 16 soundcard.
1.44 mb FDD.
32 mb RAM.

To add list:
-Add a second FDD
-Replace CPU with Pentium MMX 200
-Add extra 256 kb CPU cache
-Add second HDD
-Add 32 mb Ram to have 64 mb
-Replace video card with something more powerful (4 or 8 mb will do)

I installed some retro games of my childhood, but what games can you advice me to add?

PC screams late dos but what style of games are you into? 3D shooter, RTS, Racing, etc?

I am mostly into classic D&d Rpg games, RTS, Simulators and a bit of shooter.
One that I have installed is Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri and Star Wars: Dark Forces.
I also don't want to miss out the classics of the late dos-pentium era.

Pics? 😃

Here you go.
I have more if you wish.
It felt really satisfying.
This motherboard came from a rusty AT tower that was recently restored and will be housing a more powerful mmx pentium PC that I am assembling (needs heatsink and fan socket 7 but that's hard to find in EU without ridiculous prices, and it has a broken pin in reset case header).
I reused that former case due of the other motherboard having a ps2 mouse port soldered on the mainboard that clipped with the i/o plate that lacked the hole.
This motherboard had a bracket with the plug for the ps2 mouse.
The CD drive has been replaced as the original one didn't read win95 cd.
Now I just need to install some games and I am ready to play.

Personally for this era I like a card that supports one of the failed 3D acceleration attempts. Truth is most of the time even the 3d version of a game doesn't offer much over running in software but it's fun to have the option to try out a different version.
3D Accelerated Games List (Proprietary APIs - No 3DFX/Direct3D)

S3 Virge is probably the most interesting game wise, offers good compatibility over all and can be found for a reasonable price.

Below table is good at showing how compatible a card is in dos but remember your not trying to achieve 100% just a good resource to confirm if a card will play known troublesome games that you want to play

If it is the Trident TGUI-9680, keep it (or replace it with a suitable alternative like the Cirrus Logic GD5446 or S3 PCI video cards) unless good 3D hardware acceleration is desired. 2MB should be plenty for what you will be doing and more than that will only allow you running higher resolutions with better color depth.
