I'm sorry if this has been answered already or is a very common question but

I'm running on a 4mb graphics card using Windows XP (What the hell), and I tried to use DOS Prompt to run a dos game called conquerer. Whenever I run it in dos prompt, I get the error

Extended Memory Manager XMS Driver Not Installed

Now, whenever I run this in Dosbox...

Dosbox freezes, and my computer gets a mongoslowdown until I control alt delete close it.

How do I run programs?, etc. etc. (I won't be able to answer any questions until tomorrow morning, sorry.)

Try different output= settings in dosbox.conf, and see if an
older dosbox version works.
Also check the graphics/directx acceleration settings.

I ran it with Dosbox .65 and it still froze on me

Can you elaborate on the configurations? What exactly should I be changing output to...etc. etc.

Does the slowdown happen if you start dosbox, or if you start the game?

It happened when I started the game

k, but scratch that. I somehow figured out how to install the damned file correctly, but now whenever I start the game...

I get all these checks- Checking / Initializing, very normal, until I suddenly get to...

Error: Invalid Driver ID.

I haven't done any researching about this error yet though.

(Dosbox 0.71 and .65)
