TL;DR
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ (rev. E6, BX, 1.35V) SSE3 and TDP 50Watt
Jetway k8t8as (bios ver. 11 - the last, with E6 support added) - multiple RAM errors, until don`t turn off L2 cache

problem description:
I got some S754 MBs and CPUs
- Jetway k8t8as. Via k8T800 non pro.
- Gigabyte Ga-k8n51gmf. nVidia Crush51
and
1. couple Sempron 2800+ E6 - Аre detected by both bios correctly, Qool'n'Quite not work by design. All good, but rig is not pretentious.
2. Turion ML-30 - Аre detected by both bios correctly, Qool'n'Quite work correct (At the Giga - whit overclocking to 2.2Ghz). Rig is pretentious, but need CPU to second Motherboard (((

3. AMD Athlon 64 3000+ (rev. E6, BX, 1.35V), purchased last weekend
- At Gigabyte Ga-k8n51gmf, Windows 7 is nor boot
- At Jetway k8t8as
-- At any BIOS (whit E6 stepping support or not) detected like Athlon 64 3000+
-- Qool'n'Quite not work any time
-- multiple RAM errors at any voltage and/or frequency/timings (Core/Hypertransport/Memory)

Version#1
Brocken L2 cache.
How to test?

Version#2
Bad Venice E6 support in BIOS.
How to read MSRs and what values should be?

All in all, I need help(

1. Jetway detect for newer CPU just half L2 Cache

2 Gigabyte support E6 since F1 BIOS, detect cache size correct for ALL CPU.
But Windows not boot with Athlon. But boot with Sempron.

both variant are correct(((
Jetway for Sempron-class CPU, Atlon has broken cache.
Shit...

I think I have a MT-37 here and while it does POST on a ASUS K8N, there's severe boot issues. Haven't tried its nForce 4 counterpart, the K8N4-E though - maybe the BIOS vendor makes the difference (my K8N runs AMI, and the K8N4-E runs Phoenix-Award) in how they handle the microcode loading?

64 3000+ takes more power, if you have a scope take a look at cpu power rail

I have a Hantek DSO5000. All is well with cpu power rail.
I overclocked Turion to 2.2Ghz (FSB 220, HT 1.1Ghz, V core = 1.5), and it works well.

Both motherboards with latest bios detect Turion (and Sempron E6) correctly, not as Generic Hammer CPU.
There are no microcodes for both processors, this is 20FC2 family (Athlon and Sempron) and 20F42 for Turion.
I watched a lot of AWARD BIOSes, which declared support for Turion and E6 Venice - they do not have microcodes for this.

I do have the latest BIOS on both boards. On both, I get BSOD on boot (though I don't exactly remember what it was). They do identify it as Turion 64 MT-37 correctly.

In my case, Turion work fine. Problems with Athlon 🙁

2Ghz+1Mb L2
Cool stuff, really.

PPS
The problem is that Jetway on VIA k8T800 non PRO, i.e. the AGP frequency is equal to the Hypertransport (reference) frequency of 66 MHz.
When overclocked by the FSB, the frequencies of all bus increase.
And Radeon drivers include support for SSE not by CPU ID, but by frequency.
Less than 2Ghz - MMX, more - SSE.
I can’t overclock Turion on Jetway, alas.

I have no Athlon64 CPUs, so can´t try, but both Sempron64 (2800) and Turion ML30 works good on MSI K8N Neo V2 with nForce3 250 chipset. CnQ not work with Sempron, work with Turion (even oced at 2 GHz via 250x8 - how could be oced your at 2,2 GHz with base frequency 220 and multiplier 8x?), but lowest state is 1 GHz instead 800 MHz then.
VIA KT800 is better for compatibility with DOS sound (support for DDMA, that´s missing on nForce), so I have only SB16 emulation for DOS games, but as dual boot 98SE/XP rig it is good enough for me.
Jetway was cheap brand, but your issue is weird - maybe bug in BIOS?

Yes, this is also a bios bug in jetways.
Turion is initialized with half of the L2 cache, but after the OS loads, the driver initializes it completely.

The problem is that Athlon does not work on Gigabyte, which E6 supports from BIOS version #1.
It looks like the CPU has a broken L2 cache, or memory controller

Both problems at once. Bad luck

Managed to purchase another processor.
The same Venice 3000+ E6 1.35V.
And everything worked great, rock solid even 1.25V Vcore
After removing the heat spreader and using Zalman STG-2 between it and the core - about 40 degrees.

P.S. С_n_Q all the same does not work)))))
