I see no problem, from ~10000 points with an Intel D925 in winXP to ~9500 points with a Sempron 3100+ in win98SE. It's the same videocard. The s754 board has also the latest bios installed (F12).
The issue described in that thread doesn't affect every single Socket 754 motherboard with a VIA chipset. From what we've seen so far, it varies based on the chipset type and BIOS version. This was investigated quite thoroughly by @bloodem and described here.
The easiest way to test for the bug is to dual boot Win98SE and WinXP and then run 3D Mark 2001SE, using the same (or very similar) driver version on each OS. If the bug is present, the score under Win98SE will be halved compared to WinXP. It can also be checked by benchmarking games like Quake 2 on each OS and comparing the results. In that case, the difference is most noticeable in lower resolutions like 640x480.
