I've been juggling around with a bunch of my old towers to figure out what "appeals" to me. I'm not exactly trying to go with period correctness, but also trying not to ignore it at all.
I've set up 3 computers for retro gaming: Windows 95/NT4 (P3+TNT2/voodoo2/3), Windows 98/2000 (Athlon/Sempron+FX 5xxx) and Windows XP/7 (Xeon+GTS450). They might be overkill in the CPU department, but I prefer a beefy CPU with a (kind of) period correct GPU.
I'm thinking of going with beige/reflective green for the Win95/NT4 one (2 options below), and black/reflective grey for the Win98/2000 one (1 option below, no reset button but clean look). I also have a small all black tower for the WinXP/7 computer but I'm currently using it as my daily computer, so that is sort of on hold. The Windows 98/2000 black tower is a color clash with the 19" beige monitor, but hey, I got to make do with what I have.
What kind of towers do you use for Windows 95, 98SE and XP? Period correct? Personal choice? A board on top of a card box?
