What do you assume SP to be at MIDI byte write routine in 4.16?

0xC0 at command loop
0xC2 at entering midi loop
0xC4 in midi byte write routine

Sorry , I meant the word pointed by SP=C4 at MIDI byte write. The above is the same in every version.

I will try again to see if there is any difference with the recent versions.

Got some good results on my side! 😁

I have to disable NMI on each test though.

Thats strange, what last version gives nonsense, but old gives something more sane. Will look into this.

so, going log by log from my posts here, because I posted all logs from my tests, only the very fist version gave "passed" on 1183:

Re: The Soundblaster DSP project

all subsequent versions - failed, if I did not miss to review some of logs from my posts.

...but in duke nukem it always has a dma error. maybe its broken too.

^
To not let this stand there on its own.

Result:
Of course it was an user error and not the cards fault.
The Vibra16VX uses the same DMA channel (in my case 1) for 8 and 16 bit.
I foolishly assumed it uses 1/5 like all other cards.
Duke nukem (the game i test my cards with) doesnt allow me to set the same DMA for 8 and 16 bits, so it cant work.

After setting duke to use 8bit sound fx it started working.

Looks very good !

is it the "ST4" log, because that ST5 log is the same as the one I posted about 1 hour ago here:

Re: The Soundblaster DSP project

The ST5 log file was just to make sure, I didn't copy yours. The timestamps are different with the correct year on mine.

Match on ST4 must be 3 bytes before match on ST5. Then it looks very promising. And exactly this picture i see i logs - 3 byte difference is present.

Congratulations, and thanks for using E3.
Now its time to try it on CT39xx for those with soldered sockets.

WINNER - DUMP SUCCESS

P.S. both version work and produce the exact same dump.

very good luck of @Gmlb256 with that ST4 log, I continue to get all "failed" with ST4 on my CT4170 V4.16 (even now I dumped it succesfully). So, definitely something more affects the ST4 success.

Works on the ct1740.
Diagnoses like usual.

DMA clicking is something else, still present unfortunately.
