Hi All

Need some assistance in finding the correct replacement capacitors for the vrm on my Aopen AX4GE-Tube

Current capacitors are 8mm diameter/must be 8mm

8x Nichicon HM UHM0J222MPD6 105c 2200uf-6.3v
2x Chemicon TMZ 105c 1000uf-6.3v

I have hunted for modern replacements and cannot find anything matching the same ESR. Rest of the board has been very easy to find direct replacements.

What are my options? This is an extremely rare board and I want to do a proper recap and not half a** the job with incorrect polymer replacements… being pentium 4 ESR/Uf etc needs to match the original specifications.. not as basic as a pentium 2/3 vrm..

Don't worry about ESR. And for voltages, you can use capacitors with higher voltage.

You dont have to match ESR. Use modern low ESR caps and you will be fine.

After looking at spec sheets all night I have decided on going with Rubycon 6.3zlq2200mefc8x20 to replace the Nichicon HM UHM0J222MPD6 105c 2200uf-6.3v.

Ripple and rejection is spot on at the correct frequency.
