Hi

I have this motherboard for about a year. I got it super cheap complete in box but until recently i only tested it to the bios.
I needed it for a project and while the board booted correctly to windows, i have an issue with the mouse and usb ports... they just dont work. (PS2 keyboard works)

I managed to install all the drivers using a NEC PCI USB card for mouse and usb storage and i still have the issue. The mouse still don't work. Usb controller is detected but not the USB devices themselves (probably not even delivering power)

Overall the system is not stable with frequent freezes. I could not install properly my GPU drivers (HD2900xt)

The card itself looks like new. Caps are fine. Apparently no scratches or missing SMDs.

I used it with a 3.8Ghz P4 Prescott and 2Gb of DDR2. IDE to CF (8GB). XP SP3.

Do you have any idea ?
Thank you very much

There are many things that can go wrong with a motherboard. Sometimes resistances, diodes, transistors, voltage regulators, etc, go out of spec. Capacitors can look ok, but they can dry up too.

I'd try a low TDP CPU with a good PSU and some Linux live CD. That way you can rule out Windows and its drivers. Check the BIOS and try to find resource conflicts, maybe it's a good idea to disable everything non-essential.

Happy new year!

Thank you.
