Hey friends,

I have a (new to me) Dell Latitude C640 laptop. This machine came equipped with a P4M 2.20GHz, but in the neverending quest for speed, I swapped in a P4M 2.60GHz.

I'd like to mention that I do not currently have an OS installed.

Anyway, in BIOS, prior to the swap, it was correctly reporting the 2.20GHz processor. Now, however, it's reporting 1.30GHz.

Anyone have any ideas, here? Is it perhaps just unsupported?

Thanks!

I think I may have figured this out. Turns out the CPU I used is technically not compatible with this computer. So...hopefully nothing got messed up, I've ordered the correct 2.60GHz CPU and will do a reinstall once it arrives.
