I'm hoping somebody can help me.
I'm looking for a PCIe x1 firewire card that has known working drivers for Windows 98.

It needs to be firewire 400 with a 6p connector at least but can have firewire 800 too as long as it has Win98 drivers.

Im not supposed to link ebay here but I have zero affiliation with these sellers and just want to point you in the right direction.

This card appears to have 98 support

I have a similar card but its on PCI not PCIe.
Will it work under Win98 being PCIe?

98 supports PCIe, really only one way to find out.

The only quirk is the PCI to PCIe bridge chip on the card may not like Win9x

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

I have some Vantec branded ones with a TI chipset . They work even under DOS (in a VM with PCI passthrough) and also under Windows 98 VM (in a VM with PCI passthrough) .

At least one of them supports Firewire 800 (I have no devices capable of that to test that functionality).
