Wing Commander/DOSBox volume adjustment?

WC (first one) works fine for me with DOSBox, including MT32 properly configured in the .conf (+ VirtualMidiSynth by Coolsoft).
My only problem is the volume of music/sounds with MT32: quite low.
Is there something that can be done?

As a workaround a simple prompt command line:

mixer mt32 200:200

did the trick... but if someone knows better WC and how to adjust volume will be appreciated.
