Appologies if this is the innapropriate section to post this.

Hello, i am having several issues whilst trying to install and run the pc version of Lost Vikings 2 through DosBox, a detailed guide would be most appreciated.

My problems are as follow:

1- I mount a cd-rom drive through the usual command (i.e. -t cdrom -usecd 0 -ioctl), that works well but upon launching the setup it ceases to work as no matter what drive i select to install it doesn't recognize, saying it is either invalid or has no space...i can assure that neither is true.
2- Not figuring out how to resolve the problem above i tried running the setup (dos version) manually from the cd-rom...much to my surprise it worked perfectly (or did it?), it installed the game and off i went back to dosbox to mount a drive and play...i configured the voice settings properly, typed LV2 to start the game and...nothing, it continuously asks me to put the cd in the drive, i have no idea how to fix this, please help. 😢

Yes, thank you for disregarding entirely what i wrote as being my problems.

Q, yes, i did...however since the installation process through the dosbox doesn't work it doesn't really bloody matter now does it?

No need to swear Lich. Also in my experience, knowing what the problem is, is often equal to know the solution. For now I am not sure that you know what your problem is, only what you *think* is your problem.

The install doesn't work when done inside DOSBox? How does it not work? Any error messages? Even when following my guide?

That's the thing right, i've been following the proper way to get to the installation from the start (i did read this place before putting this up) and my problem were stated in my post, through dosbox the installation says that any drive (real drives) i try to install the game in are invalid, However when done out of dosbox the installation has no such issues.

Edit: so apparently, i did actually do SOMETHING wrong in previous attempts (yes, i am a douche, i realize that)...it accepted a drive, but a new problem came up, it gave an error (which does not happen if i do it outside of dosbox, double checked), it gives an error whilst opening a file called MAXIMUME.lst
Edit2: this gave me an idea...i will try it: Didn't work, tried doing a non dosbox installation (i really don't get how a dos installation works on XP fine and not at all through dosbox), then mount a C (for the game dir) and a D (for the cd drive) drive to see if i could run the game...no dice, it gave me the same error as mentioned on point 2 in my first post.

YES! Success!
So i got to thinking..."hey maybe i should change the name of the drive it goes to look in from the actual drive to the one i created in dosbox", well it worked.

Thank you guys for making me doubt my overbearing ego enough to take another stab at this 😁
