Hi i have a Jamicon KM-S4-1 motherboard.. and i found this manual for it https://theretroweb.com/motherboard/manual/km … ca443942306.pdf

i have an Enhanced amd 486 dx 100 processor.. this one : https://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/80486/AMD-A804 … X4-100SV8B.html

My question is , in the manual the motherboard can be jumpered to 3.3, and also to 3.45

According to the cpus manual it can support both.. so how could i set the jumpers without damaging the processor? Is there a performance difference between the two values? Also what is that dack signal for ecp/epp ? Should leave it to default DACK 1 instead of setting to DACK 3 ?

Also i know i have to set the JP16 to write-Back, but how about JP30 is that for overclocking? Should i leave it to default 3x?

As the VCC is 3.0 - 3.6V, either setting should be safe. The higher setting would potentially allow a higher overclock, depending on your individual board and CPU

To run it at its designated speed, you want the x3 setting. x2 would be an underclock.

I am not planning to do any overclocking.. so in that case i should be safer with 3v? Also how about the clock speed multiplyer? as i can see now it is setted to 2x, but according to the manual the default is 3x ..

3.3V is the right setting in most cases. Only use 3.45V if 3.3V is unstable, but 3.3V should be good. Your chip will last longer at the lowest stable voltage.

It's been so long since I used a parallel port that I would just use the default setting, as I don't know.
