My motherboard is the DFI CA61: https://theretroweb.com/motherboards/s/dfi-ca61

I've read that SB Live! and Audigy have trouble with VIA Apollo chipsets. Does anyone know if this applies to my board?

Thanks! --Anthony

I have a system based on a Soyo SY 7VMA-B (Apollo Pro 133Z) with an SB Live SB0100 and I've had no issues with it. I haven't used it for any DOS games (I've never played a DOS game) so I cannot comment on that aspect, but it has worked fine for Half-Life. You might have to swap it from one PCI slot to another after installing the drivers, that sort of thing is pretty typical with Via chipsets of that era.

After watching many YouTube videos about older computer hardware, YouTube began recommending videos about trains - are they trying to tell me something?

It's a particular southbridge that is problematic with SB Live! cards. I'm not sure which but there is unofficial fix for it and I think even Via patched it out in official drivers one day.
