I have the PCChips M912 v1.4 motherboard. Cpu is DX4ODPR100 overdrive. The board has Award BIOS 07/13/94--2C4X6H01-00

I would like to change the BIOS to AMI Winbios because I had 486 with winbios back in 1994 when I was young... so to refresh memories 😀 I have read that it should be possible.

Question is how should I perform the change? Can I just use dos program to flash the AMI in place (which program and which BIOS file?)

Or should I buy new flash/eeprom chip(s) and use a hw programming device to write the code? In this case which programmer etc do you recommend?

I have even read that it should be possible to install both BIOSes and use jumper to select which one is used..
