the drivers appear to be gone forever. i searched us.zyxel.com on archive.org and turned up nothing except a couple of extracts: https://archive.org/search?query=zyxel+ag-100

information on the internet is so scant i can't even identify the wireless chipset (atheros?) to find a generic windows (or even linux) driver. one driver site purportedly has drivers, but they turned out to be for the usb ag-200.

There is mention online of a v3.3.0.162 driver (also a dead link to the same on the Zyxel archive) for the AG-100, but it's nowhere I can find. Only driver I've found for the AG-100 (at least that's what the setup inf file says - maybe the same as the AG-200 one you found) is https://driversdownload.solvusoft.com/d325388.zip ( just noticed the inf mentions 3.3.0.162 ! 😀 )

There's also an (updated?) 'utility' package on the Zyxel archive which may apply - https://web.archive.org/web/20070520021 ... lity(2).v3

I've attached the full User Guide as well

The attachment AG-100_UserGuide_v1.pdf is no longer available

you succeeded where i failed! both the updated ag-100 utility installer and ag-200 driver package include win9x/xp drivers for my card. driverguide also has the identical "xyxel_ag200" package which covers both devices. the ag-100 uses wc11ar.sys and the ag-200 uses wc11ubbl.sys with the client utility shared between them. it would appear the chipset for both devices is the ar5523 as a firmware file is included with the drivers.

despite this breakthrough i've hit another brick wall. i can't get the adapter to connect to any wpa-psk access points under either 98se or xp sp3. i know from the zyxel press release that the ag-100/200 supported wpa/wpa-psk out of the box and the client utility even allows both tkip and aes. for some reason the wireless scan always indicates wep for all of my wpa compatible networks and when i force configure wpa-psk the client utility reports either "tkip/ccmp key absent".

on my router i'm running fresh tomato 2024.1 with all the wireless settings on auto using the widest compatibility parameters (wpa/wpa2-psk, tkip/aes). i don't understand why it's not working. i can use an airlink101 802.11g usb adapter with both oses and that even works with wpa2!

took more mis-steps...the ar5523 firmware file is only for the ag-200 usb variant. the ag-100 uses the fairly common ar5211/12 chipset. i found generic atheros drivers that worked for xp here: https://www.atherosdrivers.com/atheros-wireless-drivers.html
the oldest v3 drivers would not connect to wpa networks, but the v4 series (and up i expect) worked.

now my only issue is wpa in win98se. the above driver inf files are applicable to win98, but the win98 specific parts (ar52119x.sys) have been stripped out of the releases. i'm now trying to locate a win98 atheros driver package that works with wpa-psk/tkip. so far i've only been able to find 3.(1/3).x.x versions of ar52119x.sys which don't appear operable with wpa.

edit: hooray! found these drivers that fit the bill: https://www.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php … driverid=528840
