I got a new project board and I wanted a VLB card and have no other card to test the new board and new card.

What do you think is causing this beautiful problem?

Beautiful problem indeed 😂 I think that is a VRAM issue. Is this a VLB card? Which card is it?

If it has large discrete VRAM chips you may be able to replace them. Even easier if they're socketed, in which case you could try Deoxit or a contact cleaner. You could also try gently pressing on the chips to see if it's a contact issue somewhere. I have had some faulty AGP cards display a similar issue.

UMC UM8498: DX2-66 SX955 WB | 32MB FPM | GD5426 VLB | Win3.1/95
MVP3: 600MHz K6-III+ | 256MB SDRAM | MX440 AGP | 98SE/NT4
440BX: 1300MHz P!!!-S SL5XL | 384MB ECC Reg | Quadro FX500 AGP | XP SP3

It was the card, with three bent pins on the QFP chipset.
