My uncle gave me this fantastic HP IPAQ RX3700, with two new working batteries. Everything is there, except the CD which he couldn't find.
You only need to change the backup battery which is worn out.
Can you tell me what type of battery, so I can order it? I can't find the CD on the internet, can you help me. If it's in Italian even better, otherwise I'll settle for the English one.
Lastly, I wonder if this device has a keyboard to attach, like the Palm m100.
I can't find it. I'd love to have one. It would be very convenient to use with a keyboard.

Now all I have to do is change the backup battery, but I don't know how.
I would also like to get a new battery, because I realized that one of the two I have doesn't work very well. I think he's dying.
I attach images with the characteristics.

Battery features:

There is a sticker that says: Removing the seal voids the warranty.
There seems to be something underneath them, maybe the backup battery is there?

The small internal backup battery is only designed to prevent loss of main memory data whilst (quickly) swapping between main batteries - it's not meant for extended use or to fully power-on the unit. Far as I'm aware it's not a user serviceable / replaceable part. If you want to charge any of the main batteries they should be installed in the iPAQ, and the iPAQ should be placed in the charging cradle and plugged in (charging normally takes a few hours).

If you want a new main battery, just Google 360136-001 and select that or any listed as equivalent.

There are keyboard attachments available, like this one (not my listing) - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225921397286

Can't find the CD atm, but if you need (online) manuals try here - https://archive.org/search?query=rx3000

This is the battery, it can be changed. However, it is different from normal ones. It has wires attached.

I took off the battery casing. If I read correctly it's a V20HR
I can't find it for sale...

Regarding the item, are you sure it is compatible??? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225921397286

Clearly (if you're willing to disassemble the unit) though still not for probably 99.x% of typical users ( I'm sure HP would agree 😀 )

I don't seem to have any trouble finding numerous links for the V20HR part...either bare or with terminal tabs (only ones with wires seem designed for Dell Axim X series handhelds)

I included that keyboard link as the description did mention the RX3000 series, though the only one the old HP accessories page lists for the Rx3000 series is a Bluetooth one (FA287A#AC3) - this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225921411675

I can't find any. Maybe eBay in Italy won't let me see them. The only battery that looks similar to mine is this one. but honestly the cost seems excessive to me.
https://www.ebay.it/itm/224472550949
As for the keyboard, interestingly it supports a Bluetooth keyboard. I wonder if it is capable of being connected to a Bluetooth keyboard other than the one designed for the HP handheld. What do you think about it?
It connected to my phone and I was able to transfer photos or documents. It is also connected to Bluetooth headphones, but they do not play sound. Maybe you need a specific app to use Bluetooth headphones?? For example, on the Palm m100, to use a keyboard you had to install the appropriate program. I wonder if it can be used with a normal Bluetooth keyboard.

That link is certainly a rip-off compared to other places. Here's a few links I can currently find (some of these may need modded to fit)...

https://www.smallbattery.company.org.uk/sbc_1-v20h-wr.htm - there's a €3.50 charge for p&p to the EU

https://www.ebay.it/itm/195234783891

https://www.ebay.it/itm/122384431791

It was also mentioned on the old XDA forum that the V18HR(T) - slightly smaller dimensions(?) and 18 vs 20mAh - could be used as a possible replacement.

Far as bluetooth keyboards are concerned, suppose generic ones may work but I do wonder if the HP one is more closely integrated with iPAQ hardware / operation. Found this user guide on the web...

Similarly with headphones, they may connect but will they function properly (no sound). HP did produce their own set (actually they're Logitech OEMs), complete with built-in iPAQ style control buttons...

check this one
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003216001432.html
basically all 1.2v/20mah NiMH rechargeable battery fit V20HR size should work
V20HR has 11.5 mm diameter and 2.25 mm height (without contacts)
The one I found on aliexpress is thicker but might still fit the space since the declared size might already include the contacts.

The batteries sold on smallbattery or aliexpress are certainly perfect. Unfortunately the ones on eBay don't have the wire to connect to the PDA card. So they are discarded.
Interesting headphones! I'll see if I can find some in good condition and usable!

Question: Do you know if there is a pouch that can be inserted into the belt? My old Palm m100 had it.
I forgot, do you know what type of Bluetooth it has? 4.0?

There was a Nylon Slim Line Case (FA161A#AC3) and a Leather Belt Case (FA160A#AC3) - both still available on ebay. Far as Bluetooth version goes, both the iPAQ and the headphones were products of 2004 so I'd guess v1.1. Also, maybe try this package...might get your existing headphones working - https://archive.org/details/HP_iPAQ_Bluetooth … Edition_Decembe - which includes the user guide for the HP headphones.

So if I'm not mistaken they are these two cases?
https://www.ebay.it/itm/285857441073
https://www.ebay.it/itm/225921197606
The program on the CD is interesting, I'll try it!
Is there an Italian version? Otherwise it doesn't matter I use the English one.

I ordered the battery, it will arrive in a month. I will update the discussion when it arrives from China.
The PDA is now completely open. Once reassembled I will also try the headphones!
