I was about to ask about that as well when someone linked me to the Steam storepage.

A couple posts earlier in the thread Voidpoint was mentioned but I'd be very curious if the author was hired by Ziggurat to work on this as a paid project.

There's probably no way Fury³ or Hellbender will get re-released because I think Microsoft owns the IP for those two titles even though Terminal Reality was the developer. You can run the Fury³ POD files in Terminal Velocity though, you just have to write your own episode definition file for the engine to read from. And Fury³'s POD file should be loaded BEFORE Terminal Velocity's POD.

I would hope this "Boosted Edition" will still allow people to define POD load orders and new episode definitions so this trick would atleast work with it.

This looks great. I'm really looking forward to play TV on a higher resolution. The Mac version goes up to 1024x768 which looks awesome, but emulation hasn't advanced much lately and I still haven't been able to bring my old mac back to life. The Terminal Recall engine remake also seems to have stalled with a non-working build since 09/2022.

Just so people know I'm not just sitting around doing nothing. I still have no ETA, but progress is being made as I learn more about programming, the game, etc.

It's looking great to me. It's a shame that Microsoft did nothing with this IP after the Windows 95/98 period, cause it could have been a great IP to use for early Windows XP gaming.

I have brightmap/bright pixel support working in TerminalFury's OpenGL renderer. This means we're now at feature parity with the old software renderer.

Here's a short GIF of it running at the original 640x480, with the cut "polygon explosion" effects restored.

Glad to see your project is still going. I thought maybe it had fused with the "boosted edition". From what I see your version adds many neat features. And since the boosted edition does not like my Sidewinder Joystick, it is good to have another option in the future.

You'll be happy to know that TerminalFury supports SideWinder joysticks. In fact, it's what I use during development. The Sidewinder 3D Pro to be specific, with a USB converter.

Good to hear that. It is also ironic that the Boosted Edition malfunctions in this way (since the last patch, that is), as this series of games was even associated with the Sidewinder. For example:

This was the first game to specifically support the Microsoft Sidewinder digital Joystick.

I use the "Precision Pro" myself, with the game-port to USB dongle it was packaged with.

Considering I can no longer run the original Hellbender under Wine anymore due to severe regressions that have been happening lately; I guess this is my only resort to being able to run Hellbender at all apart from trying to get PCem setup.

Just as long as the system is OpenGL 3.0 capable, you should be good. At first, it'll only be a windows build, but I do eventually want to port to other platforms.

Thanks for the updates. Good to see how support for the earlier TV/Fury3 games has progressed, in such a short time.

The Intel Iris Pro 580 drivers for Linux supports OpenGL 4.6 in both Core and Compatibility profile contexts. I also support Vulkan 1.3 as well.

Legacy OpenGL stuff works just fine too, even 16-bit (RGB-565) visuals.

It's pretty good. Just got it on monday, and got a profile configured for it. It's got a lot less travel than the 3D Pro, but it's still a pretty good joystick. Not sure if I like it quite as much as the 3D Pro or my Saitek x52 (non-pro edition), but that could be nostalgia speaking.
