Hi,

I'm looking for a 5.25 1.2 Mo floppy that can write 360 Ko disks.

I own a Panasonic JU-475-5 : i can read & write 1.2 Mo disks, i can read 360 Ko disks but i can't write one.

Do you have a reference to give me please ?

Thanks.

Sounds like a Windows limitation. What version of Windows are you using? I know that Windows 7 can read DD disks but refuses to format them.

Is this too much voodoo?

What do you mean by "can't write"?

Every 1.2 MB drive can write 360 KB media, but the problem is:
- 1.2 MB drives write narrower tracks than 360 KB drives
- those narrower tracks are correctly read by 1.2 MB drives, but are problematic for 360 KB drives

I don't know about any 1.2 MB drive that can write wide tracks.
Looks like you need two 5.25" drives...

It should work then. What error message does DOS give you?

I don't know man, if the 1.2 disks are working then 360 disks should too.

Are you sure your 360 disks are OK? Do you have another drive to test them with?
