Heyyyyo,
I just got a wonderful registered 1.3d copy of Duke 3D, the best game ever made. I've installed Duke Nukem 1 and 2 from the cd. However, I only have pc speaker sound effects and no music. I want Soundblaster sound effects and music. I have a PCI ct4810 card. I know it sucks. It works for everything else though. My pc is a dell dimension L1000R running Windows 98 SE. Thank all of ye for your help.

Well, in my experience, Duke 1 only has PC speaker sound, but Duke 2 should work. Try the latter's SETUP.EXE program.

Vibra 128 requires TSRs to be loaded to get any DOS sound at all as emulation of the sound blaster needs to be explicitly enabled. FM's gonna sound bad on it. Also it's a good idea to apply that "Sblive fix" for duke3d as well, as it's going to crash in the echoey areas (sewers etc)

Duke2 has no setup

The option to choose which sound device will be used in Duke Nukem II are within the game settings.

One thing I didn't know until watching a LGR video is you can select both SoundBlaster and Adlib sounds I only ever had SoundBlaster enabled growing up.
(I guess PC sounds if you wanted all 3 for some reason)

IIRC, Sound Blaster supports AdLib.

Thanks I'll try to change the game's settings. I've been playing Duke 3d and somehow I've completed the first episode and been through the echoey areas without crashing! My sound card has had issues with almost every other game I have though and for some reason Duke 3d is exempt! 😀
