I have two PCs with AWE64s, both are CT4500 models.
I've found them to be great sound cards for mid to late 90's stuff.
I have one problem with these cards however, when I run a DOS game within Windows 95/98 the music will play on the AWE64's midi instead of on my SC55.
When playing a midi file within Windows or playing a Windows game with midi it will go to SC55 and when restarting in MS-DOS mode it works fine too. Only when running DOS mode under Windows will it go to the AWE64.
This hasn't been an issue until now.
My installation of Daggerfall refuses to detect the CD Drive when in MS-DOS mode, I can only play this within Windows.
I swapped my Vibra 16C CT4180 for my other AWE64 CT4500 because of some issues with the V16C, the Vibra doesn't have this issue with the midi but now I've swapped it for the AWE64 it has become an issue.
Is there any way around this or is this just a quirk of the CT4500 or the SB AWE lineup?
