I saw several people here talking about the advantages of using ESSINIT on ESS Solo instead of DOS drivers, and I want to see if I can adjust ESSINIT batch to work with my ESS Allegro.
I know I need to use the data from the ESS Allegro datasheet to do this, but it's still very difficult for me to understand all that data. So I had the idea of loading the driver first and checking the changes in the registers data with the TweakPCI tool, with the hope of getting the correct bits needed to make ESSINIT work with the Allegro.
With the data I got from TweakPCI, I made several adjustments to the ESSINIT script, but I've had no luck so far.
Is it possible to get the correct registers data with TweakPCI?, or using the ES1988 datasheet is the only way? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
