Haven't played Riven since around when the original was released so may be time to play again.

I had a brief peek. The graphics are pretty.
The decision to completely remove all FMV is extremely disappointing. It lessens the charm of the game. The official excuse as to why they couldn't include AI-upscaled videos is that "it would look bad in VR", which I find ridiculous since most players prefer not to use VR.
They replaced real acting with horrible, janky-looking CGI. The low-quality models look like they've been made last minute and are flatly lit, they don't look human. The mocap looks weird and unnatural. There are tons of glitches such as missing lip-sync and animations not loading in. One of the devs admitted they did the facial mocap with an iPhone and it really shows. How embarrassing!
It's weird because the rest of the game looks great. They seem to have added several new puzzles and extra areas that I do not recognize.
Mixed bag.
