Found myself a really nice example of the PC setupwe had as our first family PC back in 1996! This thing began my interest in PC's and probably contributed highly my IT career later in life.

Will be used as an MS-DOS / Windows 95 PC as well as pure nostalgia for me as it has lots of the same software i had on ours which comes bundled with it. Spec:

Pentium 120Mhz
64MB EDO RAM
Cirrus Logic 5430 graphics
Sound 16 SRS PnP & Wave Table sound card (??? Not sure what exact model of card this is yet)

It's being shipped, the guy knows what he's doing with this stuff so hopefully it all survives the shipping, especially the CRT.

Gunna be amazing to relive the past with this thing.

Windows 98: AMD Athlon XP 2400|512MB RAM|QDI 7X/400|Geforce 4 Ti 4200|Sound Blaster Live!
DOS: Pentium 100|32MB RAM|8GB CF|Sound Blaster AWE64
Monitor: Benq 1554e 15" CRT shared via KVM

I had a similar example way later in the mid-2000s I got from school science lab. Smelled of iodine/cleaning agent/formaldehide scienceing stuff. I installed Windows XP on it. Edited the registry and the startup setvices down to bare bones. Plain desktop to notepad.exe took in excess of 30 seconds. I played Sega Touring Car Championship really badly on it. Then I gave it away. I asked what my friend did with it and he said he forgot but thought that it got thrown away. I can't remember what besides an original Pentium was in it. I still hope he misremembered and that it survives somewhere with a more appropriate OS.

Haha yeah these machines were never speed demons thats for sure.

Isn't it crazy how easily these old systems get lost to time. I had 3 machines in total growing up and i have no idea what happened to all 3 of them.

Very nice. It's getting hard to find stuff in this condition.

Those specs are about a 1997 era computer. Had an HP tower with similar specs back in 1997
A very good Win95 computer.

Is the tube still in one piece? Is at least the rest of it ok?

The tube seemed ok visually I removed it carefully and set it up without it's case

*I am fully aware of the dangers of CRT's and have a discharge tool, i don't recommend others try the same*

Sadly the tube fails to fire up and after a bit of testing the tube cut the mains to our house so yeah... It's not good at all. I could of used it for a custom MAME arcade cabinet but at this point it seems unlikely.
