msi ms-5128 + pentium 233 mmx configuration

hi all

last award bios update (79) says will accept 233mmx
i have one, but cant make it run 233. no matter what i do i will get only 133 or 166.

i understand 4,5,6 on dip switch should be on for 66. and multiplier 3.5
so i tried all possible configuration with 1,2,3 on dip switch but no luck.

is it a special or secret configuration for 233mmx?

Hello.

On an actual Pentium 233MMX, the only "special" configuration is setting the CPU multiplier to 1.5x which gets treated as 3.5x.

hmmmm

dont work at all!

i get 133mhz only

tried to get 200 mhz with 66x3 but got 110mhz with:
1 off
2on
3off
4,5,6on

is it possible that my cpu is locked somebow?

Doesn't seem to be a fake CPU according to the photo. Does the speed gets displayed correctly with a different utility like CHKCPU?

yes

speed is displayed correct in bios, windows2k, and cpuID !

another weird thing is:
i have IDT winchip2 200mhz and win2000 recognize it.
and dip switch is configured :
0.0.1.0.0.0

but by the manual : 66x3 dip switch should be : 0.1.0.1 .1.1

thats why i asked is it a special configuration for 233mmx?
