Hello fellow Vogons,

I have a problem with a Samsung 850 Pro 128GB SSD in my DOS PC running MS-DOS 7.10.
R. Loew's TRIM.EXE is not working.
Even TRIMCHK.EXE hangs and PC freezes so even [STRG]+[ALT]+[ENTF] is not working.

I'm using a StarTech SATA-to-IDE converter (model 35BAYCF2IDE).
With this converter TRIM.EXE is working in my Win98 PC. But with another board (ASUS TUSL2-C) and SSD (Samsung 870 EVO).
So the problem should not be the SATA-to-IDE converter.
I don't think it is the SSD neither. Technical specs for this SSD say that Trim is supported by firmware.
So it could only be the chipset ALi Aladdin V of the board maybe.

Can anybody perform Trim on that Asus P5A board, maybe with another combination of SSD model and/or SATA-to-IDE converter?

//Edit:
I tested it with my other SSD, Samsung 870 EVO 1TB (max LBA limited to 128GB) for which TRIM.EXE is working in my Win98 PC with the same SATA-to-IDE adapter.
In the DOS PC TRIM.EXE hangs as well with this SSD.
So it seems for sure that mainboard chipset can't handle the Trim command.
