I got this card to work with the set blaster variable but I cant get any of the 688 drivers Ive found to install, I found a post about another 688 that was useable with his drivers, though it does not have setup or install files

No-name ES688F card: Time to ditch it?

The following are from the above drivers: esdetect works and says just a 688, esscfg works but there is no option for MPU address, ENMPU to enable MPU will run but it doesnt stay in memory for games to see the general midi option, does this card have midi out through the joystick ive enabled the joystick port with a jumper and tried without the jumper, the FCC ID is KLZ1007L maybe I missed a jumper somewhere

The 688 is supposed to, using the ENMPU TSR. But I never did get mine working.

Did you try softmpu or using win 3.11 drivers? I read about these so maybe they might work for your card I'll get around to trying both in a day or two there's even sb-midi in 3.11 or 95 I can't remember which I
dont know anything about it than what someone said

SB-MIDI mode shares the same I/O ports and 8-bit DMA mode interrupt status bit associated with digitized sound. This means that you can access the MIDI port by writing to and reading from the DSP
