Hello Dege and everyone.
I love your program and I've been using it to play a dozen of old games I'm fond of.
Now I'm trying to optimize SEGA Worldwide Soccer PC through it (ver. 2.82.5).
Premise
So far I managed to:
- get the mouse working with the pause menu (the one that comes up when pressing F3 and allows you to customize the game settings).
- run the game fullscreen/fake fullscreen window while keeping the original 4:3 ratio with black bars.
- get the game to run at what I think is close, if not the exact normal speed it had back in the day. Before I had to use programs like Turbo or cpugrab to slow it down and even so they were never definitive solution.
- fixed the Global Unlock errors by following Bobblen guide here
The few remaining downsides are:
- Having to mount the original game ISO with Daemon Tools in order to start the game.
- Even if I can find a no-CD exe somewhere, I would still need to launch the game from the ISO if I want to hear the CD tracks in-game.
I'm at a very good point now (compared to when I started) and the game runs normally through DirectX but there's still something I don't understand:
The game has an .avi intro that after tinkering with dgvoodoo2 settings now at least works (thank god) but if I start the game through the WWS.exe that one is not rendered in fullscreen.
It just plays in the upper left corner of it while the rest of the screen is black (so I guess it's just in the native resolution and nothing more).
What is weird is that if I choose to instead start the game from the Setup.exe inside the CD Rom (mounted on Daemon Tools), the intro itself plays perfectly in fullscreen.
Is there any settings within the program I should enable/disable to get the same effect from the WWS.exe?
I'm attaching here the dgVoodoo.conf file and the screenshots of the settings I have now for the game.
So far I refrained to touch the DirectXExt tab and only focused on the other ones but I'd be really grateful if you can point me in the right direction cause I'm missing the clue about this thing now.
Thanks a lot
P.S: I don't know if this is relevant but to fix the Global Unlock errors I had to apply the EmulateHeap and VirtualRegistry fixes through the Microsoft Compatibility Administrator (32 bit)
