I have a few 5.25 floppies from when they were made with programs without any notches, Ide like to know where the notch has to be as I know it has to be in an exact place but I don't have an old one with a notch to compare it.

I presume you don't have access to an existing notched floppy to measure, so have a look here for a diagram with imperial measurements.
