Hello this is my first post here, so I'm not quiet sure if this is the right topic for it, so please don't get mad at me...
A few days back I got an IBM PS/2 Model 30 286 in good condition. It works great, but sometimes when I try to load software, like MS Works for DOS for example, it crashes. The Display freezes, the Harddrive stops doing anything and the floppydrive continues doing whatever it before the crash occured.
Recently I ran a hardwaretest with Checkit and it froze at the 286 protection mode test. When I tested the RAM it completed the test with no errors, but froze when i had to press any key to get back to the programms main menu.
I'm relatively new to such old hardware and am therefore pretty much out of ideas. If anyone of you had a clue whats going on please let me know, it would be highly apreciated!
Oh, and please excuse my medeocre english...
Kind regards,
Cepsia
