Noticed several graphical issues on Disney/Pixar games, mostly related to textures appearing darker, or sometimes completely black.

The Incredibles (Bloom also seems weaker)

The Incredibles: Rise of the Underminer might also have issues but I can't tell since that's like 80% shades of brown...

Ratatouille

WALL-E (This level also has severe performance issues for some reason)

Up

I only have Wall-E installed on my machine, and it turned out to be a wrong shader. I workarounded it in the latest WIP I've just released. Re: dgVodooo 2.8.x and related WIP versions
Could you plz have a look if it's a general problem and the fix cures the other games?

Btw, you should see ERROR entries in the log if using the _dbg version of dgVoodoo.

Ratatouille, WALL-E and Up are seemingly fixed but The Incredibles is still the same and there's no ERROR entries in the log for it compared to those three in the previous WIP.

Ok, thanks! I'll have a look into it then.
Btw, doesn't running the game with the GF9800 virtual card help?
The 'dgVoodoo virtual' card supports a lot of things and their combinations that was not expected back then and not all games like that.
For example, I run into very similar problems with Overlord II with the default card.

Tried the other cards and turns out most of them actually work properly! Ironically GF9800 is when it starts having issues as bloom and lighting are ok but textures become black.

And while I'm here cause I was going to make a seperate topic to report this, Ultimate Spider-Man also has issues with textures appearing black but I just tested and it worked fine with other cards including GF9800, so if anyone reading is interested in that there you go.

Thanks! I'll look into it, textures shouldn't be black. Not in any case with the GF9800.

It turns out that this is a shortcoming in dgVoodoo. It's a special vertex processing case that is not supposed to be supported at API level but the gpu's do in general. 😐
I can't fix it now because it's not a short work but at least it should work with the GF9800 virtual card. Could you check it out plz?
