Hey there! One of the games of my childhood is Stunts (at least as I knew it, some others know it as 4D Sports Driving).

The game is running correctly, I've got only one issue left: audio drivers.

I've got MT32/CM32L to work, but the sound of my childhood is either ADLib or SoundBlaster (not sure which one of the two, they should be very similar to each others).

When I try to run the game with either of the two options selected, I get one "Can't find driver!" error message, and the game closes.

I've tried resorting to Akuma's soun driver pack, executing SOUND.COM before the game, but nothing seems to change.

Can you help me?

The Dude minds.

Stunts doesn't need SOUND.COM.
"Can't find driver!" looks like a problem with AD15.DRV - do you have that file in the game directory?

Oh. My. God. I searched an entire day for solutions and tried all kinds of tweaks (that at least teached me how to get Roland emulation), and I didn't come even close to the solution, which was just to have driver files in the game folder (AD15.DRV for ADLib and SB15.DRV for SoundBlaster).

Thank you SO much.

While we are at it, I'd take advantage of your expertise and ask you another couple of things about this same game, if anybody has an answer.

1. Which is the correct way to change audio and video driver? Right now, I've resorted to install the game to another folder launching SETUP.EXE, choosing diverse settings, and watching the SETUP.DAT it created to copy the parameters. Then, edit the SETUP.DAT accordingly before launching the game via START.EXE or STUNTS.COM. Is there a more pracical way, like a way to launch the command with some options? I remember doing it for Castlevania and Prince of Persia years ago.

2. I know that is the way to ensure you bought the game and it is not counterfeit, but having to look at the manual every time to get the required password is kinda annoying. Is there a way to avoid being prompted with the copy protection every time?

There's the obvious way: a cracked version.
Yet another example of copy protection being more troublesome for legitimate users, than for pirates...

Your copy is not proper if it's missing files. But I won't ask further, and you too please don't ask further.
Anyways, Stunts protection is one possible word out of very few locations it chooses from. After playing it a few times, you'll know the words by heart and won't even need the booklet.

Finally, to configure the audio/graphics for the game, just run SETUP.EXE in the game's directory and make your choices then exit the setup program, then run the game as usual. There is no need for that reinstall-copy-file dance you're doing.
