Hi everyone,

I am currently looking at a ZEOS 486-DX33 with a Phoenix Bios (version 1.00).

The computer is working fine but I cant get a CF card working. I tried several sizes / partitions etc with no sucess (several 128MB / 256MB / 1GB / 4GB - partitioned). Using Phils bootdisk (Fdisk/mbr), all works well, except booting. I can get all these different cards registered correctly in the BIOS as well. They even work when I boot from a floppy (i.e. I can acess drive C: and its working, showing files and the proper size). The only thing that never works is getting them to boot. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

In case this is a hopeless case, I was consdering to try an ISA network card + Boot Rom solution (e.g. XTIDE), but have never done that. I have the following old network card

The attachment 20240808_145036.jpg is no longer available

and a few more questions: Firstly - would this card work? What kind of Rom do I need and where can I get one. Finally what kind of Writer is needed to flash the XTIDE Bios to the Rom chip?

thanks for the help

Just to confirm the obvious, you have set the partition to active using fdisk, right?

Yes - partition is set active. During boot up the cf card reader acesses the drive and hangs with a blinking cursor. After a minute I get a "no system drive ...." type of error.
