Hello all, last week I decided to pick up this machine and got time to tinker around with it for the past few days. First started with some cleaning to the case and board before trying to power it on.
The first problem came down to the Dallas RTC module the board came with. It was soldered on so I decided to desolder it and used a dremel to make the needed modifications to attach a cr2032 battery. That fixed the issue where the time and settings didn't save.
But now I'm stuck with another issue where the computer won't boot to anything. I figured that maybe the drives in the computer have died or the cables were messed up so one at a time I replaced the cables, hard drive, CD drive, and then floppy drive with no success. I was always met with an "Invalid system disk. Replace the disk, and then press any key" error. In the bios it seems like the floppy drive and hard drive were identified correctly and when transferring them to a working machine the hard drive boots up to Windows 98 SE. I'm not sure what could be the problem at this point.
