Hi

Recently got this medion MD 10400 laptop. Everything went smoothly until the driver part came (as always 😀). I can't find the drivers for:
GPU - nvidia FX go5300
ID: PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_032C&CC_0300
WLAN - prism NITRO 802.11 g, markings on card: IEE 802.11G MINI PCI, MODEL XG-601MB (they couldn't just go with a normal WLAN card, eh? 😀)
ID: PCI\VEN_1260&DEV_3890&CC_0280
Tried 2 drivers but both didn't work, can't get the WIFI on led to appear (button should be working)
MODEM - intel (couldn't find drivers anywhere) motorolla SM56
ID:PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_24D6&CC_0703
Anybody that knows where I can get the drivers for GPU and WIFI? Modem drivers are optional, but would be nice to get them too if possible.

EDIT: link to the drivers page on internet archive:

Only found two Win2k and XP drivers so far. Am sure there are others but the hard part is making sure VEN_10DE&DEV_032C is listed in the .inf (seen some with only &DEV_032A and &DEV_032B).

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

On the WiFi adapter, the D-Link DWL-G650 and Netgear WG111 use the same Intersil WLAN chip. You might be able to adapt them to work...

  • Zenith Z386SX-20, 8MB FPM, Video 7 1024i, Unhoused
  • AOpen AP43, Am5x86-133@160, 1MB L2, 128MB FPM, Stealth III S540 32MB Savage4, SB32
  • ITX-Llama, 3Dfx V3
  • Asus CUV4X-E, P3-933, 512MB PC133, Hercules 3D Prophet II MX 32MB, SB Live!

It looks like the DWL-G650 has the correct ID in the .inf file, but the drivers end me up with error 10. There are also audio drivers missing but I am somewhat confident I can find them (probably still gonna ask for help finding them anyways...). The audio is realtek AC97.

I think I found the reason the WLAN doesn't wanna work. I think im missing medion hotkey drivers cause all the hotkeys don't do anything. If thats the cause then I won't have WLAN working cause medion support is, well, nonexistent. I also found the driver for GPU, so atleast Im closer to finishing this laptop from hell.

Found all drivers (was easier than I expected, but I spent too much time anyways). Every driver worked except for WLAN since I still can't enable the card due to broken hotkey drivers (they all made the PC shutdown due to high temperature), so thats still an issue.

I see you've added them all in a zip & uploaded it to the archive.

Out of curiosity, where did you find the drivers ?

All origins of drivers are in the description on the page. Mostly from driver identifier.

Turns out, to activate the wifi card the "wifi led" has to be turned on, and to do that I need special software which is long gone or use a keylogger to see what the button does (couldn't find any that logs special keys).

Someone has patched the acer hotkey driver to work with this model on linux, but that's my arch nemesis when it comes to OS'es....
