CPU: Intel Pentium II 233 MHz
Mobo: Compaq 046Ch - Intel i440LX rev 03 / Intel 82371EB/MB (PIIX4E/M) rev 02
RAM: 64 MB SDRAM 66.6 MHz
Video Card: Matrox G200
Graphics card: 3Dfx Voodoo 2 - 12mb
Microsoft Windows 95 OSR2
Soundcard: Sound Blaster AWE32 PnP CT3670 + 8MB RAM

This project started 1 year ago after i i bought a voodoo 5 and the kind seller also sent me, this mobo and ram, i had the other pieces already so i started building it, the at one point i really and i mean REALLY started despising the case i was using, it was a full tower, 20kg heavy, an unmanageable tank.
So i started designing pieces to 3d print and the colors to be used, in the end it came out really good, it's both classy and a bit late 90's gaudy, it can deal with all DOS games and all Win95 games.

I like your customization work and how it plays with Nokia cellphones design.
Those components are from 1998 though. P2-233 is good for V1 but has too little oomph for V2.

The P2 i'm using is from 97, the sound card is older, the V2 is early 98, mobo is 97 but with a bios from early 98, G200 is mid 98.
It's designed as a PC bought in 97 and upgraded in 98, that's why the in-between, also while the V2 can be squeezed more, i have a PMMX with a V1 already and it feels a bit limited but given the games meant for that PC not even that much, on the other hand i feel like this PC can simply make use of the higher compatibility that the V2 provides with early 98 games without too many compromises.

For whatever reason I love seeing what people do with 1997 builds. It feels like a truly unique year of pure masochism. You get stuck with a lot of 4 MB first generation-ish 3d accelerators, and CPUs that can barely keep up with first person shooters from even late 1998. It's almost not worth including 3D in a period correct 1997 build at all, since most of us upgraded to a new 3d card pretty quickly anyways. And while Pentium II processors were technically available, they were so expensive I never knew or even heard of anyone with one in 1997. Magazine ads had them in $3000+ systems. So I'm not surprised to see a "1997" build make some concessions. Looks beautiful, I know I'd enjoy playing on it.

Win95/DOS 7.1 - P233 MMX (@2.5 x 100 FSB), Diamond Viper V330 AGP, SB16 CT2800
Win98 - K6-2+ 500, GF2 MX, SB AWE 64 CT4500, SBLive CT4780
Win98 - Pentium III 1000, GF2 GTS, SBLive CT4760
WinXP - Athlon 64 3200+, GF 7800 GS, Audigy 2 ZS

Yeah I’m not criticizing it
Just saying if you drop the monicker you might as well upgrade to P2-333 to let V2 breathe.

Oh trust me i knew you meant well, and to be completely honest this specific P2 is a "Klamath" 300 MHz from may 7 of 97 i just can't find the right dip switch combo to set the speed to 300...

That's what my dad did when i was a kid, he upgraded in the early 98 to this hardware, it's almost identical to my 97/98 PC when i was a kid, the only difference is that the sound card was a SB AWE 64 and the P2 was a 266, the one in this PC is literally the same sound card given the extra memory added and i can technically set this CPU to 266 or 300 even.
At the time i was able to play anything i wanted on this kind of build and once i enter my resting time from work this mid September i will stream and archive some pretty interesting footage and data while playing on this PC.
