Hi,
I've tried with 2 different SSDs but I can't go over 4MB/s !!! It's like if DMA were disabled.
My config :
MSI 815E PRO Ver1 (MS-6337) 6x PCI slots
PIII 1GHz (SL52R)
3x128MB RAM PC133
ATI 9600PRO (Gigabyte R96P256D passive)
PCI Riptide Soundcard
Promise SATAII 150 TX2Plus drivers V1.00.0.33 (tried with V1.00.0.27 but hardware is not properly installed)
No additionnal PCI cards
Win 98SE with USB storage driver and Daemon Tools installed, no IRQ conflict
Both SSDs have been tested with DiskSpeed32, ATTO Disk Benchmark and Roadkil's Disk Speed. They both have excellent perfs with a PATA/SATA bridge (DMA on) on the native IDE bus (up to 80MB/s with large data blocks).
In the boot screen the SSD connected to the PCI SATA card seems to be properly detected with UDMA mode 6.
I tried without the soundcard, no change.
I swept all the PCI slots, no change.
I managed to boot from the PCI SATA card: it works when the bios is properly configured, but the file transfers between logical disks are extremely slow and the system easily hangs.
I also tried to disable the two IDE channels, no change.
Any ideas ?
Thanks 😉
