I have installed a SiI 3512 based pci sata controller card in my DFI PB61-ZX motherboard (A 440ZX motherboard with award bios 4.51PG) and it doesnt seem to be detected at all as a device.
When i install it on my Intel BI440ZX motherboard (A 440zx motherboard with ami bios) it detected and can also be used as a boot device to boot sata device.
(both of the boards have the same chipset, so the chipset isnt the issue)
Is there any solution/patch for this issue?

In building out my AOpen AP43 system, I ran across numerous PCI cards with universal keying that were just ignored by my 5v only PCI slots.

It is possible that SATA card only works on 3.3v even if the card is keyed universal. The DFI may only be wired up for 5v where the Intel has both voltages to the slots.

it has 2 notches and the rear part of the card is missing like 4 pins in each side

I did this a long time ago, I forgot that 1 capacitor is not enough.
Specifically C15 - between the regulators

Capacitor C7 can be left untouched; if you add a regulator, its function becomes redundant.
Requires 2 electrolytic capacitors.
From the PCI bus +5V at the input of the 3.3V regulator
From the output of the regulator 3.3V, the same capacitor will then be at the input of the Vcore regulator (as far as I remember, 1.8V)

When setting the fixed regulator to 3.3V, resistor RY2 must either be shorted with solder, or the 0 resistor (0603 size) must be set.

Resistor L3 (ferrite bead was expensive, so there is a 0 ohm resistor there) must be removed because it is switching a 3.3V power supply
Either from the bus or from the regulator.

C14 and c16 - X5R/X7R 0.1u 10 V, type - 0603.
If your soldering skills are not very good, it is better not to try to solder them. Its are for perfectionism.

So all i have to do is:
- Remove the resistor from RY2 and short that connection
- Remove L3
- Move C7 to C13
- Move C37 to C15
- Add a 1117-3.3 regulator in U2

No, its Sil3512 Vcore =1.8V

That's why I replaced it with MLCC 47u*6.3V
But this, again, is perfectionism.
If there is absolutely nothing to do, you can put polymer capacitors there, such as 10u*6.3V.
These are often located near the audio codec on motherboards from 10 years ago.
