Hi, I want to flash the Bios of an Elitegroup K7S5A.
It seems to have an AMI-Bios (see attached picture)

I tried these flashing tools under DOS, Win XP and also Win 98:
- AMI AfuWin
- AMI WinSFI
- AMI AfuDOS
- AMI AMF895
- AMI AMINF342

none worked. THey all threw an error like: "Bios does not support AFU"; "bios not supported"
What could be the cause?

1. Rename the ROM file to AMIBOOT.ROM.
2. Try a different version.

1. Rename the ROM file to AMIBOOT.ROM.

After that step, just put a floppy with that file into drive A, and press Ctrl+Home directly after power-on. This should activate the emergency flashing routine built into the AMI BIOS, so you do not need to worry about finding a suitable flashing tool. I started using this method only on my K7S5A after I got to know it.
