Allo ! I'm slowly gaining back the ability to do electronics again, but it will take a bit more time before I really can. I hope by end of summer I should be able to resume these things ~
My site has been down since the move to norway, it has been a low priority to get it up again.

Once I get a job so that I can have a long term living permit, it will get a lot better but so far no regrets, especially weatherwise. Much rest of europe is baking, and I am quite sensitive to the heat while where I am now it has been relatively temperate so I definitely enjoy that 🤣.

It is better to just poke me later on, even if I had a list I probably forget about it 🤣.

Once you're up and running, I'll also send you my XR385 for an upgrade. I recently acquired an SC-55 and an SC-88Pro, I must say, the external modules are much more convenient than daughterboards, so I'll convert the upgraded XR385 to an external module in time. Thanks for taking the time to design all these awesome upgrades, it's amazing what can be done to old boards in the right hands.

I actually have had some success making new hardware and even managed to set up a somewhat workable retro test station but life is a bit too busy still. I'm going to a Norwegian course 4 times a week and it eats a good amount of my time, it is something I cannot escape, I must know the local language 🤣

This popped into my head again! Figured I'd check in!

I am actually in the process of preparing to build stuff by putting together a big parts order from Mouser, and now with this reminder I'm making sure I have some parts for these boards too ~
I'm not quite sure when exactly when though I'll be building stuff, school started again yesterday and that order will take a number of more days to actually compile up but I think sometime in the next month I'm gonna be ready to do some conversions ~

Do you have to know the default EQ settings of the DB50/DB60? Amazing project btw!

I simulated it years ago but have forgotten what the result was. This option is gone in this final version (TB61XG), however, along with ADC functions.

I have resimulated the circuit and it has a small bass boost and a small dip near 1kHz for "crisp" sound :

There is a bit of uncertanty with the capacitor values, due to tolerance factor and some difficulty measuring but these are the values that I got on the particular board I was doing stuff with.

Hello. I'm new to the site.
I have a DB60XG card (NEC XR385) and over the years I have developed my own software to manage the sounds of the QS300 as well.
I was attracted by the TB60XG/TB61XG card project as an improvement of the DB60XG. Also because I think that the AK4510 DAC converter is giving me problems (the sound disappears).
I would like to know if the project is still active and how much the conversion could cost.
I would also like to know if it is possible to do the conversion with a DB50XG that no longer plays (I think because of the DAC converter D63200).

It isn't dead, but I do have lack of time for a little while longer. I have Norwegian language exam early next month and school will end not soon after so I'll start having more time soon ~

DB50XG and DB60XG can both be converted (also SW60XG), but as far as cost goes, I will have to run some numbers. Everything has gotten more expensive... Things used to be 50€ per conversion + shipping.

If I understand correctly, your project replaces the original AD/DA Ak4510 with a more valid one.
I await your cost estimate.
